9 months

Yes again I have been lagging behind on the blogging. What a busy month we have!! Evan turned 9 months old last week and it wasn't a very exciting time, he was sick with croup! And who knew that the mommy could get it too? So most of last week Evan and I spent hanging out together at home, thank goodness for my mom who took mercy on us and stayed over a little longer to help out!!
The biggest new of the month is that Evan is totally mobile and no where in the house is immune from him. He has been crawling for about 8 weeks now but has definitely mastered the art, even the poor dogs are not safe. Evan is no longer entertained by his stationary toys, he like things that move or that he can push. He loves to follow us from room to room and has mastered the stairs earlier than he should of out of his love for the dogs. They sit at the top of the stairs and wait for us, well when he figured that out it gave him the desire to climb the stairs and get the dogs. Marty and his friend Pat had to fasten all the bookcases in the house to the wall a couple of weeks ago and the wine rack has now been moved to an area that Evan can not get to because you see about 4 weeks ago Evan mastered the art of pulling up to stand and what fun is it to crawl when you can hold on to things and walk?? I was completely amazed at how quickly that happened. The first few times he pulled up he was so wobbly but within about 2 days he was pretty sturdy and by the end of the week was walking along while holding on to the furniture. He is cute because he will even crawl over to us and pull up to a stand on our legs. This week he has started letting go and standing unsupported. I have to learn to stay quiet because it always takes me by surprise and I scare him and he sits back down. Evan started taking swim lessons at the beginning of the month and is a natural swimmer!! Even his instructor was amazed. She told us to be ready for him to cry and swallow a lot of water but neither was the case. Every baby in the class cried but Evan and he was the new guy. When we put him underwater he held his breath just like he had been swimming forever. At the end of the night we let him go down the slide by himself and he LOVED it! We are so excited that we has taken to the water like a fish. We hope to get some pictures posted from the next class.

Yes he crawls through and under things that are in his way.

We are very excited about October. The weather here in Phoenix has really started to cool off and we have been doing more outside. We are frequently found at the park and walking the neighborhood after dinner. Last night we took our 2 nephews and neice to the pumpkin patch for some fall fun!!! Marty's birthday is tomorrow and we have already been celebrating for a week. My parents had a little dinner party for Marty last weekend where Marty received a new set of Ping golf clubs, the smile has not yet left his face. Evan went to spend the afternoon with his girlfriend Holly today and Marty and I went to see Star Wars the Concert. Tomorrow night we will have Marty's family over for pizza and cake. It is always fun to get the kids all together. Evan continues to be very social. He loves his time with his cousins.
Next up for us is Halloween. So until then here are some pictures from the past few weeks.
